Get in on this Bye Bye Man scavenger hunt!

The Bye Bye Man comes out Friday the 13th (of January), and an STX Entertainment-sponsored scavenger hunt is going on to promote the film! Two nightstands have popped up so far in NYC and LA, and warnings are coming up on Craigslist. They’re offering a prize to whoever gets to these undisclosed locations first. You can learn how to participate here.

In case you  haven’t heard about this creepy-looking movie, here’s the trailer and synopsis:

The Bye Bye Man, a chilling horror-thriller that exposes the evil behind the most unspeakable acts committed by man. When three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, they discover that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don’t think it, don’t say it. But once the Bye Bye Man gets inside your head, he takes control. Is there a way to survive his possession?

Also also, We Are the Flesh will be doing a run for a week at Cinema Village in NYC! This is Emiliano Rocha Minter’s festival favorite, and here’s more about where you can watch it (besides NYC and LA):

“We Are the Flesh will also open for weeklong runs in Laredo and San Antonio on January 13, Denver and New Orleans on January 20, and San Francisco and Columbus and January 27.  Special screenings include El Paso, Houston, Phoenix, Cleveland, Portland and Albuquerque throughout January and February.”

So here’s the trailer again:

And the synopsis:

After the end of the world, a young brother and sister roam an apocalyptic city looking for food and shelter. They take refuge in the dilapidated lair of a strange hermit who makes them a dangerous offer to survive. He puts them to work building a bizarre cavernous structure, where he acts out his insane and depraved fantasies. Trapped in a maddening womb-like world under his malign influence, they find themselves sinking into the realms of dark and forbidden behavior.

I'm a regular contributing writer to this website. I got into horror movies through the sci-fi monster films I watched with my dad as a kid (ex. Aliens) and the extreme amounts of zombie movies I spent a good portion of my college career watching. I absolutely love zombies (obviously), am a sucker for a low budget (or any) monster movie, and adore horror-comedy films. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is one of my favorite books, and I'm still waiting for an actually decent film adaptation to bring that fantastic novel to life. Outside of my life as a horror fan, I'm a writer and editor with dreams of turning my screenplays into movies and a love of wine and murder mysteries.
