Kotaku is reporting today of a new Mortal Kombat trailer that has mysteriuosly surfaced on YouTube. Gone is the camp of the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter movies of the past. In its place are some very welcome gore and horror themes (Mortal Kombat was always about the bloody fatalities after all.) Baraka and Reptile are portrayed as serial killers; the latter of which chops the heads off of victims in order to keep them in his refrigerator until he needs a snack…all of which are surprisingly shown on camera! Starring Michael Jai White as Jax and Jeri Ryan as Sonya Blade, could this be a video game movie that horror hounds will actually be able to love? History says most likely not but it’s still too early to tell. Check out the lengthy (almost eight minutes!) video below!

This is best thing I’ve ever seen. i hope they keep the actors too…..Mortal Kombat Rebirth’ Is a very very attractive film. Specially cause of the actors who play Jax & Baraka. I know them! They are good at Martial Arts.
