WOUND: Your Cure for Pig Mask Fetish Horror… We Hope.

WOUND: Your Cure for Pig Mask Fetish Horror… We Hope.

If the headline for this update didn’t catch your attention than the trailer most certainly will. Hailed by the late Ken Russell for its psycho sexual content, Wound promises to titilate you until you scream. The trailer is filled with latex pig masks, blood covered wrestling and spanking (yes… spanking). While I’m sure that all of these fetishes will be taken into a more serious content it is quite difficult to keep from finding the humor in the various style of pig mask. It’s a creepy (sexy?) look that screams must see. Breaking Glass Pictures (you remember Cropsy) gives us another film that’s sure to start a conversation.

From the producers:

Wound breaks all barriers as it explores the dark worlds of mental illness, incest, revenge and death. The film follows Tanya as she searches for Susan, the mother she has never met – a mother who gave her up for dead after Tanya was brutally abused by her own father. Tanya returns from the grave to confront and possess Susan with all her deepest fears and desires, sending her mother into a state of madness and gore filled retribution. A young woman alone attempts to fight the demons that begin to haunt her days and nights — in a series of brutal confrontations with the enemies of the past that want to possess and kill her.

“Wound” has shown nationally and internationally in festivals such as Fantasia FF and Fright Fest London. It has been awarded best female performance for Kate O’Rourke, best director, and best film at “A Night of Horror International Film Festival.  As 2011 came to a close, Wound featured prominently on many horror critics’ “Best Films of the Year” list.

DVD’s are available this mask which gives you plenty of time to figure out which taboos you need to have challenged and whether Wound can challenge them.

We’ll keep our eyes on this one and let you know when we get a change to experience this one.

Dr. Jimmy Terror, more commonly known as James P. Harris, has been “writing your eyes” shut since 2010 with his horror themed blog Dr. Terror’s Blog of Horrors (whose name is a play on words derived from the Amicus film, Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors). In the early 2000’s he fronted the band The Vaudeville Vampires, a short-lived Horrorabilly band which saw the creation of a catalog of horror related songs before disbanding (with only one, six song demo ever being produced and distributed). He has had only one on screen appearance to date in the horror/suspense short, Ocean Parkway, as maniacal, gloved killer with a hair fetish. Having done some un-credited, behind the scenes work in some low budget genre pictures, he is currently working on his first foray into screenwriting with a demonic, retro gore entry that pays homage to Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento as well as other Italian masters of the genre.
