I’m back with another batch of Bloodlines for all our faithful readers. Most of today’s tidbits have to do with the independent side of things, and there is a ton to get too.
First up is the first trailer for KILL THAT BITCH, from Bloodsprayer fave Dustin Mills! In only two years Dustin has made an impact in the micro-budget world of independent horror, and everyone who contributes here loves him for it. Dustin has two more movies dropping before the end of the year (the above mentioned KILL THAT BITCH, as well as THE BALLAD OF SKINLESS PETE). The catch to keeping up with everything Dustin has going on, is that you need to sign up for his mailing list at his website. KILL THAT BITCH is mailing list exclusive, as well as updated Blu-ray releases for some of Dustin’s older flix. Enjoy the trailer, and sign up for the mailing list.
The official trailer for the upcoming horror anthology film THEATRE OF THE DERANGED II from Psykikjunky Pictures was also just released to the public. THEATRE OF THE DERANGED II features independent directors James Cullen Bressack, Dustin Mills, Shane Ryan, Shawn Burkett, and Christopher Leto. No word yet on an official release date, but we’ll keep ya in the loop when we hear anything.
Director Zach Green sent us a notice that his short film FAMILIAR (reviewed here) will be premiering on FEARnet tomorrow. I personally have not seen it yet, but I already have it on my calender of things to do tomorrow.
CAMP MOTION PICTURES STUDIO HEAD TO MATCH FUNDS FOR
SNOW SHARK DIRECTOR’S INDIE-GO-GO CAMPAIGN
THE LEGEND OF SIX FINGERS
SNOW SHARK director Sam Qualiana’s newest endeavor THE LEGEND OF SIX FINGERS announced it’s Indie Go-Go fundraising drive will receive matching funds from independent media marketing expert and home entertainment studio head Michael Raso.
THE LEGEND OF SIX FINGERS combines two subgenres into one: the Bigfoot movies of the 1970s, like THE LEGEND OF BOGEY CREEK and CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAKE, and “found footage” movies such as CLOVERFIELD and the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY series. Written and directed by Sam Qualiana and produced by novelist and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson (SLIME CITY), THE LEGEND OF SIX FINGERS follows two documentary filmmakers investigating a legendary monster. Featuring genre icons Lynn Lowry (George Romero’s THE CRAZIES) and Debbie Rochon (SLIME CITY MASSACRE), the film will be shot in the late summer / fall of 2013 outside of Buffalo, New York.

The teaser trailer for Pretty People Pictures’ EAT is now online. Written and directed by Jimmy Weber and produced by Annie Baker, EAT marks the feature length debut for both filmmakers after their short film INCUBATOR left its bloody footprint on the 2011 film festival circuit (Fantastic Fest 2011, Fantasia 2011, Screamfest 2011). EAT is a unique horror film that focuses on its characters as much as it does gore. The story follows Novella McClure, a struggling actress who begins eating her own flesh to cope with her misfortunes. The film is sure to be Meggie Maddock’s (Novella) breakout role with a performance that will leave you both captivated and heartbroken. With beautiful cinematography and gut wrenching practical makeup effects, EAT is sure to separate itself from the pack of low budget independent horror films when it premieres Fall 2013.
Official Plot Synopsis: Novella McClure is like most struggling actresses in Los Angeles: she’s in her early 30s, her fake name sounded cooler ten years ago, and she hasn’t landed a role in three years. To top it all off, she’s developed a disturbing habit of eating her own flesh. Novella desperately tries to hide her strange condition from her motherly landlord, Eesha, and somewhat psychopathic best friend, Candice, but her body and mind continue to deteriorate in the depressing world of failed auditions and sketchy night clubs. Can a romantic relationship with her psychiatrist prevent her from self destruction? Or will her fatal habit continue to eat away at her?

The “Raunchiest Puppet Movie Ever Made”*, THANKSKILLING 3, debuts for the first time on DVD this October just in time for the holidays. The comedy/ horror spoof sees the return of original creators Jordan Downey and Kevin Stewart to the cult slasher series that follows Turkie, the fowl-mouthed Thanksgiving villain.
The original THANKSKILLING was made for the minuscule budget of $3,500 while Downey and Stewart were still in college. After years of marketing it themselves, and with the help of distributor Gravitas Ventures, the film went on to gain a massive cult following for its purposeful “so bad it’s good” vibe. It quickly rose to over 170,000 ratings on Netflix and was featured in Maxim Magazine, Fangoria, and on TMZ. The movie’s Facebook page, with over 10,300 likes, features fan made puppets and artwork, theme song remixes, and even pictures of THANKSKILLING related fan tattoos.
Using the fan-base to their advantage, Downey and Stewart were able to raise over $100,000 on Kickstarter to make their ambitious follow up, THANKSKILLING 3 – the first movie ever to skip it’s own sequel! Currently the highest funded horror film on Kickstarter, this ridiculous concept is something you have to see to believe.
THANKSKILLING 3 follows the feathered villain Turkie as he carves through the likes of a rapping grandma, a mindless puppet, a wig-wearing inventor, a bisexual space worm, and their equally ridiculous friends on his quest to recover the last copy of THANKSKILLING 2.
Filled with R-rated puppets and NSFW humor, THANKSKILLING 3 stars Dan Usaj and Joe Hartzler, with an appearance by porn star Wanda Lust. Also featuring the voice talents of SickAnimation.com’s own Marc M and the team behind Slick Gigolo, Bridge Stuart and Mike Litzenberg. Highlighting the technical qualities of the film is the impressive electronic soundtrack from composer Zain Effendi which is currently available on iTunes.

Uncork’d Entertainment and VIVA Pictures proudly announce the multi-platform release of the much anticipated sci-fi thriller THE CLOTH starring Danny Trejo (MACHETE, CON AIR) and Eric Roberts (THE DARK KNIGHT). Recently acquired at the Berlin International Film Festival, THE CLOTH was written and directed by Justin Price and executive produced by Ha-G Hardamon. THE CLOTH will be available July 2nd for rental and digital, and available for sale on DVD for an SRP of $14.96 on August 6th.
Based on Justin Price’s book of the same name, THE CLOTH is a taut and tense tale of intrigue, mystery and celestial influences surrounding the Catholic Church’s darkly secret organization specifically formed to combat the alarming rise of demonic possessions across the country. The story follows a godless young man who is recruited in order to gird a new generation with the unique and necessary tools to eradicate the terrifying rise of evil. THE CLOTH co-stars Rachele Brooke Smith (BURLESQUE), Steven Brand (THE SCORPION KING) and Robert Miano (DONNIE BRASCO).
Ain’t It Cool News reports, “Points for THE CLOTH for doing something somewhat new as the film takes a page from JOHN CARPENTER’S VAMPIRES and clues us in on a secret sect of priests who do exorcisms for the Vatican under everyone’s noses.” BeyondHollywood.com remarks, “THE CLOTH definitely has some things working in its favor. Tops on this list is Danny Trejo as an exorcising priest. What’s not to love about that?”

DARKEST NIGHT will be available on DVD July 16th, 2013 from Brain Damage Films.
DARKEST NIGHT has its roots in horror styles and moods from many eastern and western traditions. Filmed in a “found video and documentary” style, DARKEST NIGHT depicts a family holiday reunion at an isolated home in the Sagada Mountains. The family’s celebration is shattered by bizarre, supernatural and tragic terrors no one can explain. This film is a psychological horror story with intense family drama, suspense, action and shock.
The film is presented as a part-documentary by a TV announcer, Danny Valencia, from “found videotape” he discovered at the site of a 2003 tragedy in the Philippine Sagada Mountains. There are a few interview scenes at the beginning, but most of the film is the main story. On December 25, 2003, an upscale Filipino family gathers at a remote place in the mountains, some distance from any town, for a Christmas Day reunion dinner. Their holiday is disrupted by a series of bizarre, supernatural, and deadly events. The group is cut off from civilization and plunged into darkness by forces that defy natural laws and shut down all modern technology. One by one, the family members die or disappear in weird and horrific ways. The few who are left, including the main character Susan, struggle for survival and against family conflicts, to find out what is happening to them and how to survive. Finally they discover to their own shock, who their true tormentor is, as well as how and why these terrible things are happening. Is it too late to keep the rest of them from dying? Is the fate that awaits them even worse than death or hell? Does a mystical book they find hold the key to controlling the dark forces that threaten to unleash ghosts and demons of an evil past? And finally, can they trust each other, or even themselves to contain the fears that threaten to destroy them? Suspense and mystery keep you unsettled and guessing till the very end, when the fate and outcome of all is finally revealed.
