VERSUS – Part 4 of the Most Epic Nerd Porn EVER

This is it. The end of the ride. It’s time to get off before it just starts to hurt raw.

With this 4 part series I hoped to generate 16 stories that could be turned into amazing cross-over films for fans of both horror and comic books. We’re all really more alike than each camp would care to admit, especially when revelling in our geekdom. I sought to generate avid and believable story lines worthy of your intelligence and attention by uniting us, rather than dividing us. Sure, there’s plenty more match-ups that stick out, more battles of cult favorites to chronicle, other heroes and villains to explore, but the point I’m trying to make is that with a little imagination Hollywood can reclaim the fans that they’ve alienated with their lackluster attempts at what they think movie goers will purchase. Imagine if the studio system released one of these stories as a feature film a month. That’s almost a year and a half of solid rock ‘n roll at the box office.

I give to you now, the last bouts of Versus. I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have.

Put your dukes up!

Bub VS Mephisto

When there’s no more room in Hell the dead shall walk the Earth, right? Well it’s all part of a larger scheme and things are going to plan. The zombie uprising has been perpetuated by Mephisto to claim a larger chunk of turf in Hades by drawing in more souls than any other demon. With the carnage of the walking dead spilling in each day, Mephisto grows stronger and more powerful as other demons ally with him in order to break free from Hell and enter into our domain. Now is the time to conquer the world and Mephisto needs an army to do that. And every good army needs a fearless General; Bub!

Mephisto tempts Bub with the memories of his former life, his family and the way things were before he was infected and turned. Mephisto promises to reunite Bub with his loved ones if Bub will use his former military training to lead an army of the undead against the last remaining government agencies that are banding together to combat the zombie epidemic. Bub agrees, advancing his army against all that stand in his way as he leads a blood march to Washington D.C. to topple what’s left of humanity. Mephisto outfits Bub and his small squadron in stolen bio-mechanical weapon prototypes arming them with the latest in military technology.

Along the way, Bub discovers the remnants of his old hometown, and the scattered survivors that become consumed by his new squadron of super death dealers. A flicker of humanity shines in Bub as he finds his daughter is still alive, a survivor, only to be done in by his own hand when she tries to destroy him. Bub blames Mephesito for his heart break, and discovers that this trickster is responsible for his suffering as a zombie too. Bub unleashes his rage on Mephisto to save the soul of his daughter and all those that have perished under his command. Now Bub must march his band of killers into the bowels of Hell and take on Mephisto and his demons for the fate of the world!

Leatherface VS Dare Devil

After the terror of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the late 70s, Leatherface has been apprehended. He has been extradited to New York to stand evaluation and trial since the explosion of press coverage noting the notorious crimes have made it impossible to find an unbiased jury in the Lone Star State. No lawyer will take the mantle of defending this heartless behemoth, until young Matt Murdock stands for the ideals of the justice system and offers to represent Leatherface as a defendant. Having recently passed the bar exam and estalishing a small law practice, Murdock hopes the press of this case will build his fledgling firm as he also copes with the growing powers of the accident that gave him his super human powers.

During his mental evaluation at Bellevue Hospital, Leatherface escapes from custody leaving a bloody wake of mutilated hookers and disemboweled junkies behind him as he tries to find his way back to his family homestead. Now it’s up to Murdock to recapture the monster he sought to defend by becoming a masked avenger. Dare Devil tracks Leatherface to New York’s pre-Guiliani Meatpacking District for their final showdown in an abandoned slaughterhouse. The whirl of chainsaws against the Man without Fear in true Grindhouse style will place Matt Murdock in the position that some souls are beyond justice, where he must decide to kill or be killed.

T-1000 VS Iron Man

Tony Stark has begun creating the first series of bio-metric Iron Man suits. The building block of his latest designs is his combination of his arc reactor technology and artificial intelligence. Coupling the two with his Iron Man battle armor produce a squadron of Iron Men that can be controlled from his home base of operations as well as think and react to any battle situation that they encounter. This effectively places Iron Man and Tony Stark in every place they need to be. One person that can be directly credited with Tony’s breakthrough is research assistant Miles Dyson, who hopes that by working with Tony, this billionaire playboy may want to invest in Dyson’s tech start up company, Sky Net.

Traveling through time, a T-1000 has been tasked with claiming the head of Tony Stark. It’s Starks advancements of free thinking artificial intelligence and subsequent abandonment of military weapon research and development that threatens the future existence of Sky Net and the Terminators. The shape shifting stabbing machine infiltrates Tony’s life by the murder and replication of those closest to him, including his beloved Pepper.

Now Tony must gather his wits and his best weapons to fight off a killing machine light-years ahead of anything he could have imagined. The T-1000 assimilates itself into Stark’s new Iron Man suits and now it’s a race against time to change the future and stop Judgement Day from happening. A fever pitch is reached when the T-1000 uses Stark Industry’s mainframe to bring the world to the brink of thermo-nuclear war.

John Carpenter’s The Thing VS The Fantastic Four

Reed Richards and the gang head to the Antarctic after one of their affiliated research stations has cut off all outside communications. There they discover the carnage of their research team and one lone survivor that is in need of desperate medical attention. They load up the survivor and shuttle back to civilization not realizing that the soul they hope to save is actually a replicant embodied by the Thing!

Upon landing at their headquarters the victim expires and is sent to the morgue for autopsy. Reed and his team try to piece together what happened. It’s revealed that the research team was there to study a significant bloom of cosmic radiation in the area, the same radiation that transformed Johnny, Ben Grimm and the rest into the heroes we know today.

At the morgue the Thing escapes and begins terrorizing the city, mutilating the populace and growing exponentially in size and strength. The Fantastic Four spring into action only to encounter an evil they have no clue on how to combat. They soon realize that the mutating creatures emits a residual amount of cosmic radiation that reeks havoc on the team’s special abilities, rendering them almost human. Could this other-world being hold the answers to a cure to their space travel misfortune?

The Thing begins to replicate the team, exuding the same powers as the Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, and the rest, bending their abilities in twisted and depraved ways. The team soon turns against itself as one of them is infected. Can they think their way out of it and save the team, or will the price of sacrifice come at too high a cost? It’s Clobberin’ time!

I sincerely appreciate all of you tagging along on my epic spazz out, be careful of the wet spot.

Now it’s your turn to get in on the action. Leave a comment with your favorite battle and vote on one last fight that didn’t quite meet my criteria, but has been plaguing me: Ripley VS Sarah Connor!

The Power Loader against a Terminator bodyguard renders weapons useless. This is Ripley pre-cloning and advanced by the Alien genome. This is Sarah pre-cancer if you followed her television adventures. This is straight up fisticuffs, pure (wo)mano a (wo)mano.

Who would win in a fight?

Ripley from ALIEN
Sarah Connor from THE TERMINATOR
