The Punisher Gets New Life

frankencastleSeems like Marvel cannot get enough of these horror/hero crossovers. The latest Marvel hero to get a makeover is Frank “The Punisher” Castle.

After 36 years of serving vigilante justice, Frank Castle meets his end at the hands of Wolverine’s son Daken. After being gruesomely dismembered, it seemed like there was no saving of this old and battered hero. Thank God for Morbius!

Morbius collected the scattered remains of Frank Castle and took them to a secret laboratory in the sewers. It is there that the vampire scientist begins a reconstruction project that results in a new re-stitched and mechanized Franken-Castle. Franken-Castle now serves as the leader of the Legion of Monsters that includes Morbius, Werewolf by Night, The Living Mummy and Man-Thing.

  1. Really dug this idea when it was just Rick Remender doing a wacky idea with Frank for 6 issues, but in typical Marvel fashion, when the book got a little buzz the story has of course been needlessly extended well past that. I’m still reading it because I’m a fan of Remender’s writing, but it just seems like whenever I do decide to give Marvel a chance again, they go out of their way to make me hate them even more.
