The LORD OF TEARS is Coming!

Hello again Brothers and Sisters of the Psychotronic Video World! We were recently contacted by Lawrie Brewster, an independent director (our favorite kind here at the Blood Sprayer), who wanted to let us know about his recently-completed film LORD OF TEARS.  Here’s how Brewster pitched the film to us:

Lord of Tears is a British Chiller in the classic tradition of films such as The Wickerman, The Innocents and The Haunting. Our story concerns a man trapped in a crumbling mansion, stalked by Owl Headed monster in the misty highlands of Scotland, on a mission to piece together a childhood broken apart by repressed memory and dark secrets. It takes inspiration from classic mythology, ancient history and mordern legends such as those of – Slender Man!

I don’t know about you, but that has this writer drooling all over himself in anticipation.  Those of you who know me know that I list the original 1973 THE WICKER MAN as not only one of my favorite films of all time, but one of the best-made, high-quality, high-concept horror films ever made.

Screen06 (Jamie Jack Gordon)

As Brewster noted to us, the film is complete, however they’ve set up a Kickstarter to finance an exhibition tour of the film through the sale of DVD pre-orders.  As of this writing they’ve already surpassed their original planned goal and still have over two weeks left to go, but of course anything over their original goal just gives them more to play with in terms of spreading the good word of the monstrous Owlman.

Screen08 (Euan Douglas)

I’m already blown away by this film, conceptually-speaking, and the trailer looks damned good.  I’m really looking forward to being able to give the film a complete review in the near future.

You can contribute to the Kickstarter and pre-order your copy HERE.
