Dimension Films gave the go ahead and Wes Craven will be back in the saddle to direct Scream 4 this spring. The production team and the studio are looking for the film to hit theaters on April 12, 2011. Scream 3 was released 10 years ago in 2000.
Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox-Arquette and David Arquette and set to reprise their roles for the new film.
Dimension is looking to capitalize on the franchises that have historically done well for them in the past and Scream is no exception. All 3 films have generated over $150 million a piece. And that money is much needed for Mr. 3000 2.
Dimension appreciates it’s roots in horror and Bob Weinstein had this to say: “ ‘Scream’ has been such an integral part of Dimension’s history, and I look forward to continuing the franchise,”
Dimension will release Piranha in Face Eating 3-D on August 27th.
