The Handmaiden is now in theaters! I wrote a review; you can check that out here. This latest film from Oldboy director Park Chan-wook has gotten very good reviews, including mine, and it’s certified fresh at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. Take a look at these clips, and then find out when it’s playing at the theater nearest you and go see it!

And now some news from SRS Cinema: since the Donald Farmer Collection Vol. 1 did so well last year, they made a volume 2! Again, the collection was created by 2K transfers from Donald’s original 8mm shorts, and like last time, this is a limited edition Blu-Ray release: there are only 200 copies. You can buy Volume 2 now here.

14724299_10154653324487238_1280226344_oHere’s what you’ll find on the Donald Farmer Collection Vol. 2:

A Fistful of Pasta:

Three comical cowboys set off on a perilous journey, climaxing in a three-way gun duel.
Despondent Yearning:
A one night stand leads to romantic obsession and murder.
Homicidal:
An abusive father accidentally kills his small daughter and tries to cover up the crime. This sets the stage for a violent confrontation between the killer and his wife’s boyfriend.
dfv002a0Interspersions:
Two girls are living and a hippy lifestyle in a country house, but soon the walls between reality and fantasy start to blend until no one is sure what’s really happening.
Each short is accompanied by an intro and commentary from the man himself, Donald. And if you missed your chance to snag Volume 1, you can get it here! Want both? Go here.

And finally, on December 13, you can bring home season two of Fear the Walking Dead! It’ll be available on both Blu-Ray and DVD. Here’s more:

“Living in the same universe as “The Walking Dead,” “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 1 explored a blended family who watched a burning, dead city as they traversed a devastated Los Angeles. In Season 2, the group aboard the Abigail is unaware of the true breadth and depth of the apocalypse that surrounds them; they assume there is still a chance that some city, state, or nation might be unaffected — some place that the Infection has not reached. But as Operation Cobalt goes into full effect, the military bombs the Southland to cleanse it of the Infected, driving the Dead toward the sea. As Madison, Travis, Daniel, and their grieving families head for ports unknown, they will discover that the water may be no safer than land.

“FEAR THE WALKING DEAD: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON” introduces new cast members including Dougray Scott (“Heist”, Mission Impossible II), Arturo Del Puerto (Ride Along), Daniel Zovatto (It Follows), Veronica Diaz(“Criminal Minds”, Blaze You Out), Danay Garcia (Supernatural), Carlos Segura (The Sale of Paradise) and Alfredo Herrera (Dios, Inc.).

Featuring 15 episodes from the epic second season, as well as bonus features including audio commentaries, deleted scenes, Inside and Making of Pieces and so much more, the Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $79.99 and $69.98, respectively.”

I'm a regular contributing writer to this website. I got into horror movies through the sci-fi monster films I watched with my dad as a kid (ex. Aliens) and the extreme amounts of zombie movies I spent a good portion of my college career watching. I absolutely love zombies (obviously), am a sucker for a low budget (or any) monster movie, and adore horror-comedy films. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is one of my favorite books, and I'm still waiting for an actually decent film adaptation to bring that fantastic novel to life. Outside of my life as a horror fan, I'm a writer and editor with dreams of turning my screenplays into movies and a love of wine and murder mysteries.
