SATAN HATES YOU… Good Thing Danger After Dark Doesn’t

If you would just peruse the list of horror A-list casting call that makes up this ensemble you would be certain the title is simply a farce, and it’s all brought to you by the good folks over at TLA Releasing under their Danger After Dark banner. This banner is responsible for the distribution of such coveted titles as Suicide Club, The Living and the Dead as well as Gutterballs. We wish them well on their quest to bring Satan’s undeniable hate to the masses especially via their relaunched Danger After Dark brand. With a one sheet like this, only the cast could fail you. With a cast like this only God could fail you, and with a title like this, Satan doesn’t care.

TLA President Derek Curl said: “We couldn’t think of a better title to re-launch Danger After Dark with. Satan Hates You has all the makings of a true cult classic and we can’t wait to bring it to the fans.”

Dubbed “a clever collision of flamboyant gore and social commentary” by Variety, the over-the-top shocker follows Marc (Don Wood) a homicidal maniac driven by demons buried deep within his soul, and Wendy (Christine Spencer) a young girl who lives life fast and hard without a second’s thought to the consequences. Their separate paths will eventually cross, but will it be on the road to salvation or the highway to hell?

Written and directed by James Felix McKenney (Automations, Hypothermia) and produced by Lisa Wisely, Larry Fessenden, McKenney and Jeremiah Kipp, Satan Hates You features performances by a number of genre icons including Fessenden (Habit, I Sell The Dead), Angus Scrimm (Phantasm, Alias), Reggie Bannister (Bubba Ho-Tep), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, One Flew Over The Cukoo’s Nest) and Debbie Rochon (The Theatre Bizarre, Slime City Massacre)

As you can see from the trailer we’re talking sex, drugs and rock n’ roll. Pretty much Satan 101. The film is slated for a home video release of October 10 in the UK and October 18 is the US. Just in time for our favorite holiday (and Satan’s favorite to be certain).

Dr. Jimmy Terror, more commonly known as James P. Harris, has been “writing your eyes” shut since 2010 with his horror themed blog Dr. Terror’s Blog of Horrors (whose name is a play on words derived from the Amicus film, Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors). In the early 2000’s he fronted the band The Vaudeville Vampires, a short-lived Horrorabilly band which saw the creation of a catalog of horror related songs before disbanding (with only one, six song demo ever being produced and distributed). He has had only one on screen appearance to date in the horror/suspense short, Ocean Parkway, as maniacal, gloved killer with a hair fetish. Having done some un-credited, behind the scenes work in some low budget genre pictures, he is currently working on his first foray into screenwriting with a demonic, retro gore entry that pays homage to Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento as well as other Italian masters of the genre.
