Opening Friday, October 2nd is the NY Premiere of the latest horror film from Glass Eye Pix, BITTER FEAST.
The film has a limited one week run from October 15th to the 21st at reRun – a Gastropub Theater. It’s unique event space designed to celebrate independent cinema alongside quality cuisine – translation – some serious kick-ass bar food.
The event even has a unique and special offerings to incorporate the theme of the film at the snack bar. EXCLUSIVE FEAST: Rabbit Blackberry Saddle Bag ($4), Wild Boar Meatball Sub ($5), “Bitter” Popcorn with Olive Oil and Fresh Herbs ($3). This isn’t your local multiplex concession stand, kids.
But wait! That’s not all……
There’s also a 2 week retrospective celebrating 20 years of Larry Fessenden. He’s a spitfire of an actor that is fervently supportive of independent cinema, so much so that his production film company Glass Eye Pix is responsible for delivering fun and envelope pushing movies for the past 25 years.
Starting October 22nd and running through November 4th much of his film catalog will be available to be seen at reRun, that also has a full bar! You can read about it here.
On the movie screen, Larry Fessenden has punched out Bill Murray, creeped out Michelle Williams, and been riddled with bullets by Jodie Foster. But since 1985, Fessenden (the art-horror auteur behind THE LAST WINTER, WENDIGO and HABIT) has also supported emerging voices in the arts through his fiercely independent, NYC-based production outfit Glass Eye Pix. Like a socially conscious Roger Corman, Fessenden has nurtured a family of filmmakers that includes Kelly Reichardt (WENDY AND LUCY), Joe Maggio (BITTER FEAST) and Ti West (THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL).
In honor of Glass Eye Pix’s first quarter-century of cinematic mayhem, reRun Gastropub Theater is proud to present a two-week retrospective showcasing this tireless producer’s strange and wonderful career.
If that’s not cool enough as it is, there’s 2-FOR-1 DOUBLE FEATURES! Come to the early show, stay for the second screening FREE (seats permitting: Oct. 25, 27, 29, 31 + Nov. 1, 2)
Friday, Oct. 22nd kicks off with I SELL THE DEAD.
reRun is located at 147 Front Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
