Paramount Won’t Give Up on World War Z

world war zParamount isn’t ready to kill off zombies just quite yet. They have renewed their option to make Max Brooks post-apocalyptic novel World War Z into a feature length film.

Max Brooks’ novel tells the tale of a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission who interviews survivors from all over the world in order to put together a post-mortem on a war that destroyed every country around the globe.

Paramount had won a bidding war back in 2006 for the rights to the film. However, after four years of development hell Paramount isn’t quite ready to let this one go. Writer Matthew Michael Carnahan (State of Play and Lions for Lambs) will be doing a re-write of the J. Michael Straczynski script and according to Paramount Marc Foster (Quantum of Solace and Stranger Than Fiction) is still attached to direct.

Brad Pitt is producing the film through his production company Plan B.

If you are curious as to what the movie might look like, watch this fan made trailer below.  I thought it was kinda fun.
