Here’s a movie to keep your eyes out for and it’s from one of our own. Mike Dobrzelecki, writer for The Blood Sprayer and independent filmmaker. He’s putting together something you’re sure to find up your retro alleys (synopsis below). Take a gander at the trailer and show some support for big gore films! Wouldn’t it be nice to walk into a film festival and be able to yell out the name Develkok? Yeah, we think so too.
The film is a love letter to 70’s and 80’s exploitation films from filmmaker Mike Dobrzelecki. It celebrates big gore and a cast of the most outlandish gangs this side of The Warriors.
The film is currently in production with a release set for this summer. The film is still raising funds and more info can be found on their Facebook page and production blog.
Synopsis:
His name is Terry Develkok. He’s here to defeat the cities wicked. And He’s here to get the girl.
Terry Develkok is a broken man. Shit job, shit town, and shit life have pushed him to his breaking point. Terry wants to take his own life.
But when his attempts at suicide fail (many times) Terry Develkok discovers that he cannot die. He harnesses his new found power and takes to the streets in an effort to rid his city of the wickedness that is plaguing it.
When none can defeat him separately, gangs from around the globe band together to kill Develkok once and for all. Religious Zealots, Gangstas, White Supremacists and Circus Freaks are just some of the horrors that Terry must defeat in Die, Develkok, Die!

Dr. Jimmy Terror, more commonly known as James P. Harris, has been “writing your eyes” shut since 2010 with his horror themed blog Dr. Terror’s Blog of Horrors (whose name is a play on words derived from the Amicus film, Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors). In the early 2000’s he fronted the band The Vaudeville Vampires, a short-lived Horrorabilly band which saw the creation of a catalog of horror related songs before disbanding (with only one, six song demo ever being produced and distributed). He has had only one on screen appearance to date in the horror/suspense short, Ocean Parkway, as maniacal, gloved killer with a hair fetish. Having done some un-credited, behind the scenes work in some low budget genre pictures, he is currently working on his first foray into screenwriting with a demonic, retro gore entry that pays homage to Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento as well as other Italian masters of the genre.
