Monday News Roundup

unnamedBetween walking pnuemonia and just general running around, it’s been a while since I’ve had time to put anything up (also, it’s been a little slow lately). But here’s what’s going on today:

Daniel Ray’s Heidi is coming to Digital HD and DVD tomorrow, April 11th, thanks to Wild Eye Releasing. It stars Samuel Brian, Joei Fulco, Joey Bell, Eva Falana, Elizabeth Callahan and Michael Monteiro and did very well at Pollygrind in Vegas, taking home Audience Choice for Best Feature Film.

Here’s the trailer:

“After investigating a neighbor’s attic, two high school pranksters are increasingly plagued by a series of disturbing, supernatural events involving a creepy, vintage doll named Heidi.  As she stalks them day and night, no one will take their claims seriously until it is too late.”

You can preorder this (and tomorrow, you can just order it) on Amazon.

Moving on, Jackie Chan is in a new movie! It’s called Railroad Tigers and it’ll be out on DVD, Blu-Ray and VOD on May 8th. Here’s the synopsis:

unnamed (3)“Here Chan, starring in an action comedy that ranks alongside Rush Hour and Shanghai Knights, puts men half his age to shame as he leads a band of outlaws on a suicide mission. Police Story: Lockdown director Ding Sheng, making his third film with Chan, knows how to get the best out of the veteran star, who performs death-defying stunts aboard a moving train, fends of a tank and dodges a flying motorbike (not to mention hundreds of bullets) – not bad for a man in his 60s!
RAILROAD TIGERS also sees Chan passing the baton onto the next generation of onscreen action heroes, in the form of his son Jaycee, who stars alongside him and proves the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and showcasing the talents of rising martial arts star Zitao Huang.
Joining the likes of Runaway Train and Train To Busan as a classic loco-locomotive nailbiter (surpassing even those with a spectacular train derailing set-piece), and featuring a superb surprise cameo, RAILROAD TIGERS is laughs, lunacy and nonstop thrills as soon as it pulls out of the station.”

And the trailer:

Get it May 8th!

I'm a regular contributing writer to this website. I got into horror movies through the sci-fi monster films I watched with my dad as a kid (ex. Aliens) and the extreme amounts of zombie movies I spent a good portion of my college career watching. I absolutely love zombies (obviously), am a sucker for a low budget (or any) monster movie, and adore horror-comedy films. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is one of my favorite books, and I'm still waiting for an actually decent film adaptation to bring that fantastic novel to life. Outside of my life as a horror fan, I'm a writer and editor with dreams of turning my screenplays into movies and a love of wine and murder mysteries.
