In the world of horror, remakes have become almost their own subgenre. Most of them are cash cows who’s only redeemable value is its ability to make money. Translation: The movies are shit. Watered down, MTV-edit styled garbage starring one dimensional actors with zero to no ability. The Michael Bay’s and Jerry Bruckheimer’s of the world have been hate fucking these into our skulls for the last 6 years or so, with no end in sight.
Well, another one is headed down the pike in the form of Let Me In, the remake of the soon-to-be-classic film, Let The Right One In. Based on the looks of the trailer, it seems to be an exact remake. The film was directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and stars new hot shit actress, Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass). I already know that I’m not alone in unequivocal love for Let The Right One In. It’s a beautiful, tragic story with enough heart to make me not hate vampires for a few hours. Hammer Studios is behind this one and I’m guessing, thinking that we’ll all give it a pass because of this. As many of you, I’m certainly intrigued by the trailer but am very guarded. I’ve been hurt before…take a look and decide for yourself.
Hey, at least Rob Zombie didn’t make it, right?!
