Canadian writer and director, Philip Carrer aka PGC (If a Tree Falls, Troma’ s 2011 upcoming release, Kill, and Desperate Souls) and producer Chad Archibald (If a Tree Falls, Bail Enforcers, Sweet Karma) are teaming up again to bring Angus McLellan’s horror/thriller, In the House of Flies to life.
Set in the “retro” nineteen-eighties, In the House of Flies focuses around an abducted couple forced to tackle their way to freedom. Alone, isolated and locked in an undisclosed, suburban basement, Heather and Steve find themselves surrounded by numerous and mysteriously sealed suitcases – each containing valuable clues to their very own survival. Both Heather (Lindsay Smith) and Steve (Ryan Kotak) must exploit what remains of their bruised intellect and depleting sanity, to escape the authority of an unidentified and brutal kidnapper. Let the countdown begin.
“When I read the script, I felt so drawn to the situation the characters were in. Unlike previous horror films with people ‘trapped’ in a situation, this film is largely based on character instead of shock factor,” states PGC, “Angus wrote the script back in 2003, before the SAW films or other films involving the ‘trap’ situation.”
In the House of Flies is currently in pre-production and is set to start filming sometime in Spring 2011.
