The Incredible Blood Sprayer Staff

Wes Allen

I'm the founder of The Blood Sprayer, as well as its head writer. I have an incredible wife and son who are my reason for living and dying. Film is a way of life for me and it seeps into every aspect of my life. My particular area of expertise is in exploitation/grindhouse stuff from the 70's and 80's. I'm also a sucker for a micro budget indie as evident with how much attention we give those companies on the site. Other than that, I'm the vocalist for The Highgears (www.thehighgears.com), and a die hard fan of Cleveland Browns football, Cleveland Cavs basketball, and Baltimore Orioles baseball.

Joshua Huff

As a Web & Graphics Designer I have a fascination with all thing arts. Especially the dirtier, grittier side of horror related artwork. I scour the web for the best collections of fan-art, movie posters, and horror genre artists to bring them to you.

Dave Young

I am someone who was once one of you, but fell to the wayside. Now it's all French and Czech New Wave, Ingmar Bergman, and contemporary foreign cinema of all kinds. Needless to say, I am a subtitled film watching, wine drinking, New Yorker reading snob...but please don't hold that against me.

Bill Adcock

Bill Adcock is an aficionado of low-budget schlock, having been raised on a steady diet of 1950s-1960s creature features. To this day these remain his favorites, though creature features of all sorts, gothic horror, slashers, alien invasion films, etc. are all near and dear to him. When not writing for The Blood Sprayer, Bill can be found writing for his own review blog, Radiation-Scarred Reviews, on an almost-daily basis.

Zach Shildwachter

Born in the steel scrap-yards of Lorain, Ohio, Zach Shildwachter is a VHS Vagabond wandering the Cleveland landscape in search of the perfect Horror movie and Banana flavored snacks in preparation for the Zombie Apocalypse. Until the Dead walk, our Hero remains an Aspiring Filmmaker, Compulsive Writer, Self-taught Artist, and amateur Super-Hero.

Morgan Rankin

Morgan is an aspiring screenwriter, who loves everything '80s and horror. She also writes for the blog, The Kid in the Hall, where she rambles on about B-movies, groovy music, and the totally random.

Mike Dobrzelecki

Mike is not only a writer here but also the owner and operator of a film production and special effects makeup company. Mike is gearing up to work on fellow Blood Sprayer contributors new film, Idiot Gore, which is sure to be a raucous, gory, helluva good time. He is also in production on his short film, Die, Develkok, Die!. The film is a love letter to exploitation movies of the 70's and 80's and is influenced by modern films like Grindhouse and Hobo With a Shotgun. He is also working on a feature length documentary in the spirit of American Scary that chronicles the history of the Tennessee horror hosts called "The Tennessee Horror Show!". Mike loves all things horror and is very excited to share with the Blood Sprayer community!

Courtney Wyant

With a love for art that was fueled by Saturdays filled with early morning cartoons and late night horror rentals, Courtney Wyant has spent most of his life developing his own artistic style that smashes the two together. A style he has unleashed unto the world under the name of NOTFORKIDS, in a column called Maniacal Laughter, on the horror site BloodSprayer.com........enjoy.

Rondal Scott

Rondal is a full-fledged horror fan and die hard "strange kid" who tackles each day with Red Bull-induced vigor with a side of unadulterated violence. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Strange Kids Club, a virtual clubhouse of adolescent enthusiasm in addition to being Co-Editor of Fuel Your Illustration and an occasional contributor to the video game blog, StartFrag.

Jenny Spencer

Jenny is a life-long fan of horror and exploitation films, particularly those made in the 1970’s and 80’s. She is a huge film history buff that has a fondness for non-fiction books on the subject, as well as an avid collector of film soundtracks. When she’s not serving her numerous feline companions, Jenny is a regular contributor for Italian Film Review (http://www.italianfilmreview.com/) and runs her own blog devoted to giallo and slasher films, The Bloody Iris.

Zachary Kelley

Zachary Kelley is a life long cult fim fanatic who first brought his love for unappreciated gems when he founded The Lightning Bug's Lair over two years ago. Since then he's operated on one simple notion. No film is too gory, trashy, silly, or forgotten to deserve a watch.

Matt Pocock

Matt has been a fan of horror films since his first trip to the video store when he was transfixed by classic vhs cover art. Now he primarily enjoys films from the grindhouse era of the 70's and 80's, but holds a soft spot in in his heart for low budget flicks.

Jesse Bartel

My name is Jesse Lee Alan Bartel and I love being a critic on things you don't care about. I love films, horror, writing, and violent video games. Hope to hear from you and happy stabbings. I am also a regular contributor to The Liberal Dead.

Jenn Francis

Jenn is the proprietor of the Cavalcade of Perversions, a site covering all sorts of exploitation and horror goodness, with a good sprinkling of her cats wearing costumes.

Wilhelm Screem

In addition to contributing to The Bloodsprayer, Count Wilhelm Screem XIII, the self-titled "Werewolf Of The Comic Shop," is also the moldy, morbid, macabre monster mind behind the image-blog Werewolf's Meal Inc, a creepy cavalcade of horror comics, heavy metal, scream queens, spook shows, and random related rot.

Mahlon Orrin

I'm a music geek/writer and I like music that makes people squirm. I don't like happy music. It doesn't make me feel good. I wear T-shirts that make people ask me questions about my feelings on the Lord and whatnot. Horror fans like movies that would make sociable people think twice about inviting them to the block party pig roast. There is a connection there somewhere. I'm fanatical and obsessive about weird, dark, unconventional music. The plan for my little "annex” is to curate a selection of writings on musics that engender feelings of horror, dread and terror while straying from the obvious cast of bloodsoaked goons that wind up getting press coverage from horror/cinema sites (i.e., things related to Rob Zombie, Danzig, ICP, Gwar, gore metal et al) I was a music writer years ago. It gets pretty difficult and/or boring to write for other music snobs so I quit. I'm excited to be able to write to a different audience than the usual disagreeable nerds/trolls who already know all there is to know.

Jimmy Terror

Dr. Jimmy Terror, more commonly known as James P. Harris, has been “writing your eyes” shut since 2010 with his horror themed blog Dr. Terror’s Blog of Horrors (whose name is a play on words derived from the Amicus film, Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors). In the early 2000’s he fronted the band The Vaudeville Vampires, a short-lived Horrorabilly band which saw the creation of a catalog of horror related songs before disbanding (with only one, six song demo ever being produced and distributed). He has had only one on screen appearance to date in the horror/suspense short, Ocean Parkway, as maniacal, gloved killer with a hair fetish. Having done some un-credited, behind the scenes work in some low budget genre pictures, he is currently working on his first foray into screenwriting with a demonic, retro gore entry that pays homage to Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento as well as other Italian masters of the genre.

Ryan Searles

My secret dream is to one day be interviewed in a documentary with the word "expert" under my name at the bottom of the screen. That is me. I am the expert. In addition to my newfound home at the Blood Sprayer, I am also a contributing writer at anerdoccurrence.com!

Brittney-Jade Colangelo

Brittney Jade Colangelo is special. Not in a “please don’t give her chocolate or knives” kinda special, but pretty damn close. Conquering beauty pageants, musical theater, baton twirling, and the Hot Topic hordes sent by Stephenie Meyer to silence her, BJ-C will not only survive the impending zombie apocalypse, but look damn good doing so. You can also find her cooking up the super feminine and feisty fresh dopeness over at her blog DAY OF THE WOMAN.
