A Look at Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark

Guillermo del Toro’s latest film, a remake of the 1973 made-for-television horror classic, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, will be hitting theaters in 2011. A trailer for the film was attached to the recently released, The Last Exorcism and has since hit the web.

The film centers around a young girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend. She soon discovers that there are creatures are living in the house with them. At first, she thinks they are friendly creatures, but she soon learns otherwise.

The remake stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, and Bailee Madison. It is co-produced and co-written by Guillermo del Toro and is directed by first time director and del Toro protege, Troy Nixey.

Expect to see Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark in a theater near you on January 21, 2011.
